Improvised, sample-based, live-coded music and noise made using TidalCycles [ tidalcycles.org ] and Troop [ github.com/Qirky/Troop ].

This collaboration began in 2019 with an invitation from Alex Mclean to perform at Algorave Elephant at Corsica Studios. Our second gig takes place on the release date of this album at the same venue for the "10 Years of Algorave" event. These recordings are edits from our rehearsals for those two gigs.

We selected a small number of samples each to use in each set of rehearsals. When we play, we begin with a blank screen and each create patterns, rhythms and melodies using the text-based sample sequencer TidalCycles. Later, we edit, ammend and disrupt each other's code. Layers of complexity become whirling fractals of sound -The sections flow together and we often lose track of where and how the noises are being made. Each track here is a single edit with a start point and endpoint - with no restructuring, overdubs or additional editing.

To follow the album, an edition of collages will be accompanied by recordings from both gigs.
